Senior Data Engineer / Data Scientist

Build the data platform behind a major industrial operation

We're working with a leading resources organisation investing heavily in data, analytics and digital transformation. This role sits at the centre of the business, connecting operational data from processing plants, logistics networks and critical infrastructure into a modern cloud environment. You'll be responsible for building scalable data pipelines, creating trusted datasets and helping turn raw operational data into meaningful insights.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain data pipelines using Python, SQL and AWS
Integrate data from operational systems, vendor platforms and APIs
Design and optimise datasets in Amazon Redshift
Support reporting, analytics and machine learning initiatives
Improve data quality, governance and monitoring
Work closely with operational stakeholders to solve real business problems

About You / Requirements

5+ years' experience in Data Engineering
Strong Python and SQL skills
Experience with AWS services such as Redshift, S3, Glue and Lambda
Strong background in ETL/ELT development
Experience with data modelling and cloud data warehouses
Ability to work across multiple systems and data sources

Nice to Have

Mining, manufacturing, logistics or industrial experience
Exposure to SCADA, PI, telemetry or operational technology data
Data Science or Machine Learning experience
Experience working with real-time or streaming data
