About the Role
Senior Core Yard Technician to lead and manage small teams of Geology Technicians; collect, analyse and distribute geological information to key stakeholders; and perform geological activities required to facilitate the safe, efficient and cost effective extraction of the mineral resource.
Key Responsibilities
- Day to day run of the core yard, leading the Geology Technicians, liaising with the drillers, and taking responsibility for the stores.
- Collection, orientation and markup of core from Grade Control Drilling.
- Accurate and safe sampling of geological core, using a core saw to cut core ready for sample dispatch.
- Collection of and recording accurate geological and geochemical data.
- Maintenance of tools and equipment for the Technical Services team, including stock takes, cleaning and stocking of laydown areas and containers.
- Safe operation of a forklift/ telehandler to move core and samples.
About You / Requirements
- C Class license.
- Senior First Aid (desirable).
- Forklift/ telehandler tickets.
- Previous experience in a production geology environment highly regarded.
- Previous team leadership experience.
- Moderate computer literacy skills, e.g. Excel and Acquire highly regarded.
- Ability to meet site requirements, including a current National Police Clearance (or ability to obtain), pre-employment medical, and drug & alcohol screen.

- Senior First Aid (desirable)
