Senior Commissioning Specialist

We are currently partnering with a leading organisation in the resources and energy sector to appoint an experienced Senior Commissioning Specialist to support a portfolio of operational and major capital projects.

Hours: M-F 45 hours per week

Start: ASAP start

Length: 12 months with potential to extend - depending on client requirements

Hourly rate: $100.00 - 130.00 p/h + Super depending on experience

The Role:

Reporting to the Manager - Commissioning & Readiness, you will be responsible for developing commissioning strategies and ensuring projects are set up for safe and successful delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing commissioning strategies across brownfield and major capital projects
• Defining commissioning sequencing, system priorities and readiness criteria
• Embedding commissioning requirements early across engineering, construction, procurement and operations
• Supporting safe integration of new systems into live operating environments
• Providing commissioning assurance and supporting key milestones such as energisation and start-up

This role will support a mix of:

• Sustaining capital / operational (brownfield) projects
• Major capital projects across mining, energy and decarbonisation initiatives

Experience:

• You are an experienced commissioning professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys influencing project outcomes early in the lifecycle.

• Strong experience commissioning brownfield projects in live operating environments

• Proven capability in developing commissioning strategies and sequencing

• Experience working cross-functionally with engineering, construction and operations teams

• Ability to identify commissioning risks early and influence design and execution

• Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to work across multiple projects C

• Commissioning within industrial, mining, power or process environments

• Solid understanding of: Systemisation and staged commissioning / Control systems / Energisation and start-up planning

• Experience integrating new systems into existing operating assets
