The Role

Help deliver the systems that keep Australia’s digital world running. At UGL, we're delivering some of Australia's most complex and critical infrastructure projects. As our Major Projects portfolio continues to grow, we're seeking a Senior Commissioning Engineer to support the successful delivery of major data centre developments across Melbourne.

Whether your experience comes from data centres, hospitals, airports or other complex building environments, you'll play a key role in ensuring critical systems are tested, commissioned and handed over safely, efficiently and ready for operation.

Working alongside industry-leading project teams, you'll gain exposure to large-scale, technically challenging projects that will accelerate your career and broaden your expertise in mission-critical infrastructure.

The Role Supporting the wider project team, you'll help plan, coordinate and deliver commissioning activities across major projects, ensuring systems are safe, compliant and operationally ready for handover.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate testing and commissioning activities across mechanical, electrical and integrated systems
  • Support commissioning planning, methodologies and operational readiness reviews
  • Work with consultants, subcontractors and client stakeholders to maintain program outcomes
  • Monitor commissioning progress, defects, close-out activities and documentation
  • Ensure compliance with project specifications, quality standards and safety requirements
  • Support integrated systems testing, client witnessing and successful project handovers

About You You are a technically capable engineer who thrives in complex project environments and enjoys solving challenging technical problems.

You'll Bring

  • Degree-qualified Electrical, Mechanical or Building Services Engineer, or equivalent experience
  • Commissioning experience on data centres or other complex facilities such as hospitals, airports, defence, health or critical infrastructure projects
  • Strong understanding of M&E systems, testing methodologies and integrated commissioning processes
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills
  • A proactive approach with a strong commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement
