Job Description
$1100-$1200 per day
Primarily remote work (anywhere in Australia) with the requirement to travel to Darwin, NT for one week per month.

A major government‑owned utilities organisation is delivering a multi‑year transformation program to implement a new Future Operating Model.
Your new role
Reporting to the Business Engagement Lead, you will play a key part in progressing multiple workstreams within the Operating Model Program. You will:
- Support the development and documentation of business requirements across program projects.
- Develop a strong understanding of business operations, customer experience objectives and the ICT roadmap.
- Facilitate workshops with diverse stakeholder groups to capture, analyse and articulate requirements.
- Produce business scope, conceptual design documentation and detailed process maps.
- Align requirements with process design, identifying opportunities for simplification, automation and re‑engineering.
- Create business process design documentation in accordance with organisational standards.
- Provide guidance to build and test teams regarding design queries, variations and defect resolution.
- Work closely with Change, Communications and Training teams to support solution walkthroughs, impact assessments and training design.
- Collaborate with development and test teams to ensure appropriate test coverage, including user acceptance testing.
- Mentor internal staff and support knowledge transfer to uplift long‑term organisational capability.

Essential Skills
- Strong ability to translate business requirements into technical and functional concepts.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills with the ability to quickly build rapport.
- High attention to detail and strong analytical capability.
- Confident facilitator with experience running workshops for requirements gathering and process mapping.
- Proven ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities.
Essential Experience
- Background in utilities or other complex, regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience mapping as‑is and to‑be business processes.
- Experience in business process re‑engineering and identifying change impacts.
- Exposure to multi‑project environments in a Business Analyst role.
- Experience working with both Waterfall and Agile methodologies, including writing Epics/User Stories and ensuring traceability.
- End‑to‑end SDLC experience.
- Exposure to test case support and UAT preparation.
- Experience with asset management systems such as Maximo or Oracle.
Desirable
- Understanding of utility sector trends such as digitalisation, DER and evolving customer expectations.
