About the Role

We are looking for experienced Safety Trainers to join our New Zealand business.  Based in Christchurch, you will partner closely with operational leaders at a local project, providing Subject Matter Expert guidance on risk, effectively implement HSEQT plans, facilitate compliance requirements, lead incident investigations, and drive accountability for the timely completion of corrective and preventive actions to promote a strong safety culture and continuous improvement.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure effective implementation and adherence to the HSEQT management plan
  • Develop & review risk assessments
  • Provide Subject Matter Expert coaching and guidance as a part of the site leadership team
  • Facilitate incident investigations and improved outcomes
  • Drive ownership & accountability for corrective actions management
  • Ensure workforce competency and maintain training compliance through accurate coordination, monitoring, and reporting of training requirements.
  • Ensure compliance with the Integrated Management System requirements

What You’ll Bring

  • Demonstrated HSEQT experience in Underground mining (required)
  • New Zealand Certificate in Workplace Health and Safety Practice (Level 4)
  • New Zealand Certificate in Assessment Practice (Level 4)
  • ICAM Lead Investigation and Training courses (required)
  • Formal safety management system auditing qualifications (desirable)
  • Proficient with HSEQT reporting platforms (eg. Evotix or similar)
  • Experience with learning management systems (eg. Cloud Assess)
  • Intermediate level computing skills.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder skills
  • Unencumbered Class 1 drivers’ licence

Role Details

  • Location: New Zealand, Christchurch
  • Roster: Monday to Friday | Site travel as required
