Anglo American Steelmaking Coal Steelmaking coal is an essential ingredient in blast-furnace steel manufacture, producing steel used for critical building and infrastructure around the world. Job Description:As our Safety Superintendent – Risk & Assurance, your key responsible will be ensuring correct application and delivery of risk and assurance processes to enable safe execution of work. This role is also responsible for monitoring and supporting compliance of the safety and health management system to internal and external requirements.Key accountabilities; but not limited too;Ensure consistent application of safety & health principles in all site interactions within and beyond site boundariesFacilitate operational Bowties in alignment with business unit Bowties, ensuring updates are made in Bowtie XPOversee the sites regulatory hygiene requirements including the delivery of the annual sampling planEnsure compliance to Aquila Mine's contractor management standard through implementation of the contractor management system and annual auditingConduct ORM familiarisation for new starters prior to assignment of Critical Controls in IsometrixDevelop a program of assurance over Critical Control monitoring activities, High Focus Task planning, risk management and action close out effectiveness.Monitor changes in regulation / site risk profile and support update of SHMS accordingly.Manage the sites medical and hygiene contractorsCoach, advise on and support facilitation of site risk assessments and updates of SHMS, with a focus on legal compliance, effectiveness, standardisation and useability.Support injury management and facilitate the return-to-work process for injured workersEnsure actions from all audits are captured in Isometrix for tracking and reporting.Support the sites investigation process and reporting to external partiesContribute to a purpose-led, high-performing culture within the site safety function that is aligned with the company values, is inclusive and promotes diversityWork in an integrated way to provide a multi-disciplinary approach and balanced view across all major disciplines. Qualifications:An undergraduate qualification (Bachelors / Honours degree or equivalent) plus a formal qualification in Safety combined with extensive practical safety experience in a similar position.RIIRIS402E: Carry out the Risk Management ProcessRIIRIS601E: Establish and Maintain Risk Management SystemsRIIWHS601E: Establish and maintain the WHS Management SystemExcellent knowledge of mining operations (preferably coal mining)Detailed knowledge of Safety & Health and risks as well as a thorough understanding of operationsDemonstrated experience in a risk management position within a technical environment, including the coordination of knowledge sharing with broader stakeholdersDemonstrated success in project management, particularly managing change and stakeholder engagement in multi-national and multi-functional teams.
