Safety Advisor

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor to join a major construction project environment. This role is focused on driving a proactive safety culture through visible leadership, frontline engagement, coaching and risk management.

Working closely with project teams, supervisors and contractors, you will play a key role in ensuring safe work practices, supporting investigations, conducting audits and providing expert advice on health and safety systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Providing health and safety leadership across site operations
• Coaching and mentoring leaders, employees and contractors
• Conducting field leadership activities, inspections and observations
• Reviewing JHAs, permits and high-risk work documentation
• Assisting with incident investigations and corrective actions
• Facilitating risk assessments and risk review workshops
• Supporting contractor management and safety compliance activities
• Monitoring safety performance and reporting metrics
• Participating in audits and continuous improvement initiatives
• Promoting proactive risk management and safety excellence

About You

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• Experience in construction, mining, resources, energy or industrial environments
• Strong knowledge of WHS legislation and safety management systems
• Experience with contractor management and risk management processes
• Excellent communication, coaching and stakeholder engagement skills
• ICAM or equivalent incident investigation training
• Current C Class Driver's Licence
• Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety or a related discipline
• Internal Auditor qualification in WHS Management Systems highly regarded
