About the Role
As a Health & Safety Advisor, you will partner closely with project and operational teams to promote a strong safety culture, provide practical HSE guidance, and ensure compliance with legislative and project requirements. You will take a proactive approach to risk management, auditing, training and continuous improvement initiatives across the project.
- Work in accordance with the client's values and demonstrate leadership in HSE, client, people, and financial accountabilities.
- Coach and support operational teams in subcontractor management, safe work practices, inductions, permits, risk assessments, and HSE compliance requirements.
- Implement and promote the client's HSE policies, systems, initiatives, and continuous improvement programs through training, communication, and mentoring.
- Conduct HSE inspections, observations, audits, data analysis, and risk assessments, ensuring effective controls and corrective actions are implemented.
- Support incident reporting, investigations, injury management, return-to-work processes, and the management of hazardous substances and worker fitness for work.
- Partner with operations to develop HSE management plans, risk registers, audit readiness, and compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements.
- Prepare HSE reports, support the development of HSE capability across teams, and participate in learning, development, and performance management activities.
What you'll need to succeed
- Certificate IV Workplace Health and Safety essential
- Degree in Health, Safety & Environment, Business or similar discipline preferred
- Minimum 5 years' experience in a HSE practitioner role
- Experience conducting audits and preparation of corrective actions and reports Preparation and delivery of various HSE Awareness or Training Programs
- Current Driver's License
