Recruitment Team Lead

Location: Western Australia

As the Recruitment Team Lead, you will play a key role within WesTrac’s WA recruitment leadership team, providing direction, guidance and oversight across recruitment delivery. You will influence hiring decisions, support complex recruitment challenges and help strengthen recruitment capability across the business.

This role focuses on leadership and advisory tasks to set direction, build capabilities, and improve outcomes, rather than managing day-to-day recruiting.

What you will do:

  • Lead and inspire a high-performing recruitment team, setting clear direction, lifting capability and creating an environment where people do their best work.
  • Set the standard for strong leadership, role‑modelling expected behaviours and addressing issues early to maintain performance and momentum.
  • Own recruitment and labour hire outcomes across your portfolios, ensuring quality, consistency, cost discipline and appropriate governance.
  • Act as the senior escalation point for complex or high‑risk hiring, helping leaders manage workforce risk, tight labour markets and competing priorities.
  • Lift recruitment capability across the business, coaching leaders to make better hiring decisions and strengthening confidence in recruitment practices.
  • Shape and improve how recruitment operates, driving initiatives that make hiring more scalable, sustainable and aligned to business needs.
  • Use data and insights to drive results, tracking performance, identifying risks early and continuously improving recruitment outcomes.
  • Build strong, ongoing partnerships with senior leaders and hiring managers, advising on role design, attraction strategies and market‑aware hiring decisions.

Skills & Experience:

  • Tertiary qualification in HR, Business or a related discipline (or equivalent professional experience).
  • Demonstrated ability to build credibility and influence with senior leaders in a complex, operational environment.
  • Strong people leadership capability, with experience leading and developing recruitment professionals.
  • Demonstrated experience providing oversight of end-to-end recruitment delivery, including governance and workforce risk
  • Experience overseeing or influencing labour hire models and recruitment vendors, including performance, compliance and issue resolution.
  • Strong analytical capability, with experience using recruitment data and insights to inform decisions and continuous improvement.
  • Sound judgement and confidence operating in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
