About the Role
Maintenance Planner / Scheduler – Rail FIFO / Site-Based
Join Rio Tinto in Weipa as a Maintenance Planner / Scheduler, responsible for planning and scheduling rail maintenance activities, improving work management processes, and supporting reliability initiatives. This is a contract role for 3 to 6 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and schedule maintenance work
- Support reliability improvements and process optimisation
- Coordinate labour, equipment, and maintenance requirements
- Manage parts sourcing, contractors, and compliance
- Assist with budgets, accruals, and forecasting
About You / Requirements
- Planning/scheduling experience in mining or heavy industry
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills
- Proficient in MS Office (Excel, Word, MS Project)
- Experience with SAP Work Management
Desirable
- Rail maintenance exposure
- Electrical or Mechanical trade background
