Located 472 kilometres north-west of Adelaide, South Australia, Carrapateena is part of our Minerals Australia operations, within the Copper South Australia province. The mine is located on the traditional land of the Kokatha people. Carrapateena produces copper concentrate and is one of the largest mining projects in South Australia in the last decade.
About the Role
The Projects Coordinator – Mine Services is responsible for supporting the planning, coordination and execution of the operation’s portfolio of capital and operational projects. The role ensures projects are delivered safely, efficiently and in alignment with operational priorities, while maintaining and supporting the development of project teams.
Please note this position is based at Carrapateena, operating on a 15 on / 13 off roster pattern arrangement, on a FIFO (from Adelaide) basis.
In this role you will:
- Be first and foremost focused on creating a culture of care by being a visible safety leader, assisting in engaging, developing and coaching the team
- Plan, prioritise and coordinate Projects in collaboration with Production, Maintenance and Production Planning teams
- Support the implementation of Underground Infrastructure and Operational Technology (OT) projects
- Manage contractors (for raise-bore and civil works) as well as Electrical and OT Technician crews, ensuring they operate in accordance with site safety standards
- Maintain a proactive field leadership presence, ensuring appropriate controls are applied to all hazards and material risks present in each work area, through workplace inspections and critical control verification
- Execute daily and weekly planning and coordination of multiple teams to execute various projects and deliver on schedule milestones
- Attend daily mining meetings and effectively communicate compliance to schedule, interactions, priorities, milestones, risks and opportunities
- Scope new projects and where required procurement of infrastructure and consumables
- Oversee execution of planned and scheduled project works, ensuring delivery against approved scope, schedule, and budgets
- Apply disciplined end‑to‑end project lifecycle management from initiation through to close‑out, consistent with governance and reporting requirements
- Support continuous improvement in project systems, processes, and delivery outcomes through strong engagement with operational project teams
About You
- Proven commitment to look after your own wellbeing and the confidence to speak up when others put themselves in harm’s way
- Tertiary qualifications in Civil or Mechanical Engineering, or Technical Trades, or Project Management, with extensive equivalent industry experience (Civil and/or Mechanical preferred)
- Experience in delivery of underground mining infrastructure projects
- Demonstrated experience in end‑to‑end project lifecycle management, including initiation, planning, execution, close‑out and governance
- Experience supporting or coordinating project teams, including Project Managers, trades personnel and/or technical specialists
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills across multiple levels and disciplines
- Proactive safety leadership with a demonstrated commitment to safe systems of work and positive cultural behaviours
- Experience in mining, heavy industry, processing operations, or other complex industrial environments (preferred but not essential)
- Exposure to maintenance, reliability or production environments that closely interface with project delivery
