Hours: 40 hours Residential 50 hours FIFO
Rate:  $103 - $115 per hour + super 
Roster: FIFO: 50-hour week | 5/2 4/3 or Residential: 40-hour week | 5/2 4/3

Their operations include 18 iron ore mines, four port terminals, a rail network spanning almost 2,000 kilometres, and extensive supporting infrastructure.

About the Role

The Project Lead is responsible for leading projects from pre-feasibility through to implementation, delivering projects that meet stakeholder requirements, on time, within budget and in line with business and external standards.

Responsibilities and Duties

• Planning and Defining Project Scope - Define the project scope, objectives, and timelines in consultation with stakeholders to ensure project success.
• Resource Planning – Strategically plan and allocate necessary resources, including time, budget, CMS, contractors and equipment, to ensure successful project delivery.
• Risk Management – Identify and mitigate potential risks and develop contingency plans to ensure that the project is delivered on schedule.
• Monitoring Progress – Regularly monitor project progress, identify problematic areas, and recommend appropriate corrective action.
• Managing Budgets – Develop, prepare, and track project budgets, ensuring that expenditures are within the approved limits.
• Reporting – Provide regular status reports, progress reports, and updates to stakeholders and senior management on project status, milestones, and risks.
• Team Management – Build, lead, mentor, and motivate contractors and other stakeholders to ensure optimal performance throughout the project lifecycle.
• Quality Assurance – Ensure that all project activities, deliverables and outcomes meet the expected quality standards and requirements of stakeholders.
• Ensure compliance with all Project Management steps and processes.
• Ensure compliance with all Contractor Management steps and processes.
• Manage contractors to agreed outcomes, safety requirements, and within budget.
• Ensure all requirements of Rio Tinto Element 7 Supplier and RTIO 5 Steps of Contractor Management are met.
• Review and approve contractor documentation including personnel qualifications, schedules, and methods.
• Collaborate with other functions in the performance of duties.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards and procedures.
• Assume all legal responsibilities as required by local legislation relevant to the Contractor Management System.

Skills & Experience Required

• Strong knowledge of project governance frameworks.
• Proven experience in project delivery and risk management.
• Tertiary qualifications in project management, business, or a related field.
• Trade or engineering qualifications highly regarded.
• Experience within the resource industry highly regarded.
