About the role

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer with a strong mechanical and/or pipeline background to support the delivery of multi-discipline operational capital projects. This role is suited to someone who can operate across scope definition, detailed design coordination, vendor engagement, cost/schedule management, and transition into execution, with a strong focus on safe, practical outcomes for operations.

Key responsibilities

  • Develop scopes of work and supporting documentation for multi-discipline projects (mechanical, piping/pipelines, structural, E&I interfaces as required).
  • Engage operational stakeholders to confirm requirements and ensure project outcomes are fit-for-purpose.
  • Interface management between consultants, suppliers, vendors, and internal design teams.
  • Obtain and evaluate technical, cost, and schedule information from suppliers and vendors.
  • Support project budget allocation, cashflow forecasting, and reporting.
  • Work closely with scheduling to ensure plans and milestones are achievable and tracked.
  • Assist with handover/transition from project definition/approval into execution.

About You / Requirements

  • Engineering degree (Mechanical preferred) or equivalent relevant tertiary qualification.
  • Strong Project Engineering experience, particularly involving detailed design for:
    • Fixed plant (mining/process facilities, materials handling, utilities), and
    • Pipelines / piping systems.
  • Demonstrated understanding of project controls fundamentals (cost, schedule, reporting).
  • Working knowledge and practical application of Australian Standards.
  • Strong ability to balance technical requirements with commercial outcomes.
