Breight Group is looking for an experienced SMP Project Engineer to join our growing team. Working within our Project Delivery Team, you will play a key role in supporting the planning, coordination, and successful delivery of projects.
This role will see you involved in a variety of engineering and project activities, ensuring projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget. You will also be responsible for maintaining strong relationships with internal teams, clients, and subcontractors while contributing to continuous improvement across project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and support engineering activities.
- Assist with project planning, scheduling, and resource allocation.
- Monitor project progress and prepare regular reports for project stakeholders.
- Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and technical documentation.
- Assist with project budgeting, cost tracking, and forecasting.
- Support procurement activities including supplier and subcontractor coordination.
- Attend site meetings and liaise with supervisors, trades, and project teams.
- Ensure all works are carried out in line with safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Identify project risks and assist with developing solutions to mitigate potential issues.
- Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across project processes and delivery.

- Bachelor of Engineering (Mechanical or related discipline).
- Previous experience working in a Project Engineer role within construction, mining, or heavy industry.
- Strong understanding of project planning, cost control, and reporting.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients and project teams.
- High level of computer literacy including Microsoft Office.
- Commitment to maintaining a strong safety culture.
