Our Tier 1 Mining Client is looking for a technically capable Product Technical Support professional to join their Technology & Autonomy team, supporting critical mining technology systems in a site-based environment.

Roster: 8/6 FIFO from Perth

Start date: End September

Duration: approx. 12 months - with potential to extend

Pay Rate: $75 - $80 p/h + Super depending on experience

The Role:

This is an opportunity to work at the intersection of mining operations, IT/OT, systems infrastructure and product development, providing hands-on technical support for mission-critical technology used in 24/7 mining operations.

You will act as the technical bridge between product development teams and mining operations, working directly with site personnel, technology partners and vendors to troubleshoot complex technical issues and improve system performance and reliability.

The role is focused on maintaining and supporting a bespoke Fleet Management System (FMS) and its underlying technical environment, including servers, virtual machines, databases, networking, deployments and system integrations.

Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:

• Manage and maintain FMS technical infrastructure, including servers, VMs, databases and core services.
• Monitor system performance and identify opportunities for optimisation.
• Troubleshoot complex backend issues including database performance, service failures and infrastructure incidents.
• Perform system maintenance and proactive troubleshooting using SSH and command-line tools.
• Execute software deployments and releases across environments.
• Configure and maintain application endpoints, field hardware and workstations.
• Manage integrations with OEM systems and external platforms.
• Develop automation scripts and tools to improve system efficiency.
• Monitor system events, alerts and performance thresholds.
• Troubleshoot connectivity and integration issues at the protocol level.
• Analyse system logs, performance metrics and resource utilisation.
• Support backup, disaster recovery and high-availability solutions.
• Coordinate system changes, patches and deployments during maintenance windows.
• Work with vendors and technical teams on escalated support issues.
• Maintain technical documentation, runbooks, integration specifications and troubleshooting procedures.

Required Experience:

• 1-3+ years' experience in a technical role within mining, resources or heavy industry.
• Proven experience with mining technology systems, FMS, dispatch or automation.
• Experience working in remote mine site environments.
• Hands-on experience with industrial networks and communications systems.
• Experience supporting mission-critical production systems.
• Strong troubleshooting and analytical capabilities.
• Ability to work independently on complex technical issues.
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work with both technical and operational stakeholders.
• Ability to work effectively on a site-based roster.

Technical Experience Required:

• Python
• Bash / PowerShell
• SQL
• TCP/IP networking
• Linux - RHEL, Ubuntu or CentOS
• Octopus Deploy / Ansible
• Docker / Docker Swarm / OpenShift
• Fleet Management Systems - MineStar, FrontRunner or Modular Mining
• Experience with Grafana, Artifactory, autonomous haulage systems, OT/IT cybersecurity, OEM integrations or multi-site technology deployments will also be highly regarded.
