About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Procurement Engineer (Mechanical) to join our Sydney-based team.

In this role, you will be responsible for driving procurement activities across mechanical packages, ensuring timely delivery, cost efficiency, and compliance with project and contractual requirements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage procurement across multiple mechanical packages, ensuring alignment with project schedules and specifications
  • Collaborate with engineering, project, and supply chain teams to optimise procurement outcomes
  • Coordinate vendor engagement, tendering, evaluation, and selection processes
  • Lead procurement meetings and provide updates on progress, risks, and delivery timelines
  • Monitor ETAs and ensure timely delivery of materials and equipment
  • Maintain accurate procurement registers and documentation
  • Support QA processes, FAT inspections, and vendor performance reviews
  • Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and commercial requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement and lessons learned initiatives

About You

  • Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
  • Proven experience in procurement, materials management, or supply chain within engineering, construction, or energy projects
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical equipment procurement (e.g. rotating equipment, piping, structural, process systems)
  • Experience working with suppliers, subcontractors, and OEMs
  • Advanced skills in spreadsheets and procurement systems (SAP experience highly regarded)
  • Solid understanding of procurement processes, contract management, and cost control
  • Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Detail-oriented with strong organisational and time management capabilities
