Northern Star Resources currently has a rare senior opportunity for a highly experienced Processing Manager to join the team at our Jundee Operations, working an ongoing 4/3 roster, in a permanent & full-time capacity.

Reporting directly to the General Manager, this key position will manage the process operations, plant maintenance, site services and laboratory services. This will include ongoing strategic review of processing efficiencies and operations, preventative maintenance practices and consumables consumption, with a strategic focus on the life of mine needs for tailings disposal and infrastructure requirements.

  • Manage crushing, processing, and assaying of ore to ensure safe, continuous, efficient, and optimal recovery.
  • Drive continuous improvement in ore processing and gold recovery.
  • Establish adequate security for gold room including pouring, handling, storage and transport to Perth Mint.
  • Establish plant reliability through programmed maintenance
  • Maintain efficient site services and infrastructure such as dewatering and village utilities.
  • Deliver strategic initiatives that proactively respond to evolving business challenges and align to  the Life of Asset plan.
  • Demonstrate safety leadership, manage Critical Risks across the department/operation in accordance with the Mine Safety Management Plan.
  • Show strong leadership through well-developed communication skills including managing for performance and the ability to communicate processing operations information to senior management and the department.
  • Build capability of the Processing and Maintenance teams through skill development, coaching and succession planning.
  • Ensure quality control of processing operations.
  • Ensure compliance with environmental and regulatory obligations.
  • Act as the Senior Site Executive when required.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • You are a qualified Metallurgical Engineer, Metallurgist or Chemical Engineer or possess extensive relevant experience in either a trade or processing operations
  • Extensive knowledge of or experience in gold processing and classified plant management with 10+ years of experience in processing
  • Experience developing & delivering on strategic programs action plans in order to respond to current or emerging challenges.
  • A successful track record of implementing and delivering recovery improvement strategies.
  • Sound computer literacy across the Microsoft Office Suite and Pronto (ideally), as well as a working knowledge of Maintenance Management Systems.
  • Demonstrated experience maintaining or exceeding industry best practice across all processing and maintenance tasks.
  • An awareness and understanding of the Mines Safety and Inspection Act & Regulations, including the practical application of critical risk management and driving positive safety behaviours
