Process Operator

Karara Mining Limited (KML) is an Ansteel Group company formed as a joint venture with Gindalbie Metals Limited. Ansteel is one of the largest iron ore producers and steel makers in China. Located 200km south-east of Geraldton, Western Australia, Karara is the largest mining operation and the first major magnetite mine in the Mid-West. It produces a premium, high-grade concentrate product for export to steelmakers.

The opportunity

We are seeking capable Process Operators to join our Processing teams based at the Karara Mine Site.

This role requires certain physical demands and exposure to challenging environments that involve lifting, pushing, pulling, work at heights and others exertions associated with manual roles as well as a strong commitment to safety while working in an operational mine site environment.

Working on a Full-time 8 days on 6 days off 7 nights on 7 days off roster, FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geraldton.

To be successful in the role, the following is essential:

• WA C class Drivers Licence
• Skid Steer and/or Forklift Ticket
• Proven experience working in a mining or other heavy industry environment
• Strong understanding of mineral processing
• Sound mechanical aptitude
• Experience with filtration, magnetic separation and flotation is advantageous
• National Police Clearance

To be eligible to apply for this role you must be legally permitted to work permanently in Australia.

Key Duties (but not limited to) :-

• Execute daily plant operations as directed to meet production safety and environmental targets
• Operate and monitor plant equipment safely within operating parameters
• Follow operating procedures to maintain plant performance and throughput
• Maintain high standards of housekeeping across all work areas
• Promote safety and environmental awareness by identifying hazards and preventing unsafe practices
• Operate and maintain all concentrator processes from crushing to tailings disposal
• Ensure compliance with all procedures safety and environmental requirements
• Support concentrate quality to meet grade and moisture specifications
• Collaborate with Metallurgy Maintenance and Mining teams
• Complete required daily reporting on time
