About the Role
Reporting to the Manager I&S. Logistics & Rail, this role will be responsible for developing and executing end-to-end category and sourcing strategies across rail-related materials, services, and infrastructure. You will play a key role in contract management, supplier engagement, and stakeholder collaboration to deliver sustainable value and operational excellence.
Core Responsibilities
- Lead the development and implementation of unconstrained category and sourcing strategies using tools such as TCO modelling and clean sheeting.
- Design and deliver detailed negotiation strategies to drive optimal commercial, best in market outcomes.
- Manage the full contract lifecycle, ensuring alignment with governance, milestones, and performance targets.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and critical suppliers to mitigate risks and unlock long-term value.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives, seeking year on year cost out.
- Actively contribute to a high-performing, fast-paced and collaborative team culture.
- Understand and leverage market trends, innovations, and emerging risks to inform strategic decisions.
- Manage end-to-end commercial and contractual challenges and vendor’s supply chain performance in collaboration with Contract Owners.
- Influence and negotiate outcomes that achieve enterprise goals.
About You
- Proven experience in procurement, supply chain, or commercial disciplines, ideally within the rail sector.
- Strong commercial acumen and strategic thinking, with the ability to identify and implement value-driven opportunities.
- Demonstrated experience in contract management and supplier relationship management.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and influencing skills with the ability to obtain buy-in for new ideas.
- An understanding of International supply chains and emerging markets.
- Proficient in GCMS, Procurement BI Tools, MS Office Suite of products, specifically Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
- A desire to leverage new technologies to optimise speed to value.
