About the Role
Minerals Australia Projects (MAP) purpose is to create and maximise value for the business by working with our Assets to develop and safely deliver fit-for-purpose capital projects.
An exciting opportunity exists to join the MAP Health, Safety and Security (HSS) Technical team, reporting to the HSS Technical Manager. This role can be based in Perth, Brisbane or Adelaide.
The Principal Health & Hygiene role will support the MAP HSS team through deliverables across all phases of the project lifecycle, providing deep technical expertise and strategic guidance on health and hygiene related matters. Working collaboratively across all areas of HSS, you will help drive the achievement of HSS business objectives while supporting a growing and diverse portfolio of projects.
Accountabilities
In this role, you will provide technical expertise in the strategic management of health and hygiene related issues, provisions and initiatives across Minerals Australia Projects by:
- Providing specialist expertise on health-related risks to uplift organisational capability in health management.
- Managing, improving and providing expert advice on hygiene management practices to enhance organisational outcomes and performance both on and off site.
- Making evidence-based and strategic decisions aligned with longer-term business objectives.
- Identifying, engaging and influencing a diverse range of internal and external stakeholders to support delivery of key initiatives and improvements.
- Identifying and assessing risks, making risk-informed decisions and supporting a strong risk-aware culture through the application of BHP's risk management framework.
- Planning, managing and delivering projects and initiatives that generate value and support business outcomes.
- Sourcing information, planning and conducting analyses to support evidence-based decision making.
- Providing technical leadership, coaching and guidance to internal and external stakeholders.
- Governing, maintaining and continuously improving standards, processes, systems and procedures, including associated assurance activities.
- Supporting the HSS Managers for MAP East and West in the execution of health and hygiene priorities.
- Championing our commitment to achieving 100% safety, 100% customer value and 0% waste.
About You
The successful candidate will hold the following skills and experience:
- Delivery of hygiene risk assessments and Health & Hygiene Management Plan submissions.
- Development and execution of occupational hygiene monitoring programs.
- Coaching line leaders in hygiene control implementation and investigation of exceedances.
- Health promotion initiatives and field leadership coaching.
- Governance, assurance and reporting of Health & Hygiene Management Plans to Governance and assurance of Helth & Hygiene requirements.
- Identifying and managing emerging health risks, including an awareness of psychosocial harm and its impacts within the workplace.
- Experience developing and implementing Exposure Reduction Plans and experience within a projects or major capital projects environment is desirable but not required.
This is a 12-month Secondment/Fixed-Term role.
