Your new role
This is a strategic architecture leadership role focused on establishing an enterprise-wide Agent Orchestration and Management Control Tower.
You will play a pivotal role in shaping how AI and automation agents are safely, scalably and consistently delivered across a federated operating model, while enabling enterprise visibility, assurance and control through a single, integrated architecture.
Key responsibilities
Architecture & Strategy
Define the target architecture, reference patterns and roadmap for an enterprise Agent Control Tower.
Translate conceptual designs into implementable architectures, covering platforms, integrations, governance and runtime controls.
Ensure alignment with enterprise standards and operational risk requirements.
Agent Lifecycle Governance
Architect standardised processes for agent registration, approval, validation and policy enforcement.
Enable permission-based discovery and cataloguing of agents and tools across business units.
Embed lifecycle governance into federated delivery pipelines.
Orchestration & Control
Define orchestration patterns to support controlled agent invocation, tool access and inter-agent interaction.
Establish key control points (e.g. gateways, proxies, policies, contracts) to enforce enterprise guardrails.
Observability, Assurance & Intervention
Design end‑to‑end observability covering telemetry, health, cost and performance.
Establish assurance workflows to detect drift, deviation or policy breaches.
Architect robust intervention mechanisms including throttling, blocking and kill-switches with full auditability.
Enterprise Integration
Integrate the control tower with security, observability, ITSM, data and cost management platforms.
Define canonical data and event models to support consistent reporting and operational response.
Federated Operating Model
Establish governance standards, RACI models and architectural guardrails for federated delivery teams.
Coach and influence teams to drive adoption while maintaining architectural integrity at scale.
What you'll need to succeed
Demonstrated years’ of experience in Enterprise or Platform Architecture within complex, regulated environments
(resources, mining or heavy industry experience highly regarded)
Proven experience designing control planes, registries/catalogues and governance frameworks
Strong background in integration architecture, observability and security-by-design
Demonstrated success working across federated delivery models
Confident communicator with the ability to influence at executive level.
