Our Opportunity
Work Location: Hedland Operations – located on the traditional lands of the Kariyarra people.
Roster: 7 Days / 7 Off – FIFO ex Perth or residentially based in Port Hedland
We’re looking for an experienced Plumber to join Fortescue’s Port Hedland Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) team, supporting critical infrastructure that keeps our operations running smoothly.
This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you’ll maintain and improve essential services across accommodation villages, workshops, offices, and water systems. You’ll be part of a team that values safety, reliability, and continuous improvement—while working in one of Australia’s most dynamic operational environments.
Key Responsibilities
You’ll take ownership of maintaining and optimising plumbing and water systems across site infrastructure, including:
- Delivering safe, high-quality maintenance and repairs across and NPI facilities
- Maintaining plumbing, gas, and reverse osmosis (RO) systems to ensure reliability and compliance
- Performing planned maintenance and breakdown response across site assets
- Conducting inspections, fault finding, and troubleshooting to minimise downtime
- Using MEX and Microsoft Teams/OneDrive to manage and close out work orders SAP Experience
- Leading by example in safety, risk awareness, and hazard reporting
- Actively contributing to toolbox talks and continuous improvement initiatives
Qualifications and Experience
- WA Plumbing Trade Certification
- Plumbing Contractor Licence
- G Class Gas Fitting Licence
- WA Class C Driver’s Licence
- Strong experience in domestic and/or light commercial plumbing systems Including Process water
- Proven ability to diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair complex systems
- Solid understanding of Australian standards and relevant legislation
- Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise in a fast-paced environment
- Confident using maintenance systems and Microsoft Office tools
Highly regarded:
- Experience in remote or mining camp environments
- Exposure to RO/water treatment systems
