Your impact

As an Asset Planner, you will play a key role in strengthening maintenance planning and asset reliability across the Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) fleet at Boddington Gold Mine. By developing high-quality work plans, task lists, and maintenance strategies within SAP, you will enable efficient job execution and support improved equipment reliability and availability. Your work will directly contribute to safe, effective maintenance outcomes while supporting continuous improvement across Newmont’s asset management systems.

This role supports the maintenance planning and asset strategy management of a large-scale Heavy Mobile Equipment fleet operating within one of Australia’s largest gold mining operations.

As part of our team you will

  • Develop and maintain maintenance plans, task lists, and asset strategies within SAP to support efficient work execution.
  • Collaborate closely with planning, scheduling, and execution teams to gather information required for effective maintenance planning.
  • Translate Reliability Centred Maintenance (RCM) outcomes into practical maintenance strategies within SAP.
  • Ensure maintenance plans align with agreed maintenance frequencies, labour requirements, and engineering materials.
  • Create and maintain general task lists for new, existing, and ad-hoc maintenance plans.
  • Maintain disciplined management of asset strategies within SAP, supporting approximately 4,500 maintenance plans.
  • Support the development of standard task procedures and scope documents for the Asset Maintenance department.
  • Capture critical maintenance information and continuous improvement feedback from execution teams into SAP and document control systems.
  • Contribute to reliability initiatives and ensure maintenance strategies support asset performance and availability.
  • Promote safe work practices and ensure compliance with statutory requirements and Newmont standards.

Prerequisites for your success in the role

  • Demonstrated experience as a Maintenance Planner within a Heavy Mobile Equipment (HME) environment, ideally in a large open-cut hard rock mining operation.
  • Strong experience using SAP maintenance modules, planning and scheduling functions.
  • Experience translating reliability or maintenance strategies into practical work plans.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Project or similar planning tools.
  • Strong organisational, time management, and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to work collaboratively across planning, reliability, and maintenance teams.
  • A strong commitment to safety, compliance, and continuous improvement.

Your work environment

This is a site-based role at Newmont’s Boddington Gold Mine, operating on a 5/2, 4/3 roster working an 80-hour fortnight. You will have every second Friday as a rostered day off (RDO) along with Public Holidays, supporting a strong work-life balance. You will be part of a collaborative and safety-focused Asset Management team, supporting the reliability and performance of one of Australia’s largest gold mining operations.
