About the Role

Based in either Brisbane or Melbourne, Reporting to the P&C Lead, this role partners with Contract Managers and operational leaders to deliver both strategic and operational people solutions across a geographically dispersed workforce. You will play a key role in supporting workforce planning, employee relations, performance management, organisational change, stakeholder engagement, and talent initiatives.

Regular travel to operational sites across Australia will be required.

As a trusted People & Culture partner, you will work closely with leaders to align people strategies with operational objectives, build leadership capability, and support a high-performing and engaged workforce.

Key Responsibilities

  • Partner with Contract Managers and operational leaders to deliver people initiatives aligned to business objectives.
  • Provide expert advice and support across the employee lifecycle.
  • Coach leaders on performance management, employee engagement, and workforce planning.
  • Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, grievances, and conflict resolution
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across multiple locations nationally
  • Support organisational change, workforce transitions, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Provide guidance on employment legislation, policies, and people practices.
  • Contribute to strategic people projects and organisational outcome

About you?

To be successful, you will have:

  • Experience within Defence, Operations & Maintenance, Engineering, Infrastructure, Resources, or a similar operational environment
  • 5+ years' experience in a Human Resources or People & Culture Business Partner role.
  • Strong stakeholder management, influencing, and relationship-building skills.
  • Experience managing employee relations and performance management matters.
  • Well-developed communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skills
  • Sound knowledge of Australian employment legislation and employee relations practices.
  • Degree qualifications in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business, or a related discipline, or equivalent HR experience and professional qualifications
