Our client is a well-established industrial services provider operating across Australia, delivering safe and reliable maintenance solutions to the mining, oil and gas, infrastructure, and marine sectors. They are known for their strong safety culture, quality workmanship, and commitment to their people, with projects spanning complex environments including power generation, rail, wharves, pipelines, and structural assets.
Your new role
You will be joining a growing project team working on local industrial projects in the Mackay region. The role involves abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and application of protective coating systems across steel and structural components. Positions commence in April, with locals highly desirable and FIFO considered for the right candidate. The roster is 5 days, 6 nights, followed by 7 rostered days off. Following a successful probation and evaluation period, there is an opportunity for full-time employment for the duration of the project.
What you'll need to succeed
- Certificate III in Surface Finishings
- Working at Heights (within the last 2 years)
- Confined Space Entry (within the last 2 years)
- Current Driver’s Licence
- White Card (post 2009)
- MSIC (preferred or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug screening
- Experience in abrasive blasting, surface preparation, and masking
- Knowledge of coating systems and paint applications
- Ability to safely operate blasting and painting equipment, including spray guns, rollers, and brushes
- Strong understanding of safety, environmental, and quality standards
- Self-motivated attitude with the ability to work autonomously
