Newmont Tanami is on Aboriginal freehold land 540km northwest of Alice Springs. It is a long-life, low-cost, world-class asset in a core Newmont region. The Tanami Expansion 2 project, aims to extend the mine life beyond 2040, investing in a hoisting shaft which will increase the production of the underground mine from 2.6 Mtpa to 3.2 Mtpa. Both the successful exploration within the underground operation and implementation of the first Tanami Expansion has laid the foundation to further develop the operation to remain a major contributor to the Newmont portfolio. A fully equipped camp is located 40km from the site offering leisure facilities for those flying in from Perth, Brisbane, Alice Springs or Darwin.

We are currently seeking experienced Bogger Operators to join our Tanami operation, supporting safe and efficient underground production activities.
Your Impact
Reporting to the Underground Supervisor, the Bogger Operator is responsible for clearing and loading blasted material from stopes and drawpoints safely and efficiently, in line with Newmont’s operational and safety standards.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate underground loaders to clear blasted material from stopes and drawpoints
- Maintain pace with the mining cycle while adhering to approved safe work procedures
- Ensure roadways remain clean, smooth, and to design grade
- Conduct bogging activities in line with development and production requirements
- Maintain a clean loading area and manage spillages promptly
- Follow oversized rock handling procedures where required
- Participate in pre-start and PASS meetings prior to shift commencement
- Complete equipment and area inspections, ensuring compliance with Newmont standards
- Safely operate and maintain equipment to plant and maintenance procedures
- Identify and report defects, hazards, and equipment issues promptly
- Maintain accurate shift reporting
- Ensure adequate ventilation and safe working conditions at all times
Safety & Environmental Accountability
- Demonstrate strong commitment to safety leadership and compliance
- Follow all safety systems, procedures, and hazard control measures
- Actively participate in safety initiatives such as SafeChecks, JHAs, and hazard observations
- Maintain a high standard of housekeeping across all work areas
- Stop work where conditions are unsafe and escalate appropriately
- Take personal accountability for safety and contribute to a positive safety culture
About You
You will be a proactive and safety-focused operator with demonstrated underground mining experience.
Skills, Knowledge & Experience
- Proven experience in underground mining
- Demonstrated bogging experience in underground operations
- Remote bogging experience is highly regarded
- Strong understanding of underground mining processes and safety requirements
