Operator - Ancillary

About the Role

As an Ancillary Operator within our Open Cut Mining team, you will play a key role in safely and efficiently operating heavy equipment including dozers, excavators, graders and water carts to help achieve daily and weekly production targets. Working as part of a high‑performing crew, you’ll complete tasks to required design tolerances, utilise Minestar GPS systems, and ensure all logs and documentation are accurately maintained.

Key responsibilities include:

• Maintain pit conditions including:
• Haul road construction and maintenance
• Windrow/bunding construction to site standards
• Stockpile management and clean‑up
• Drainage management and dewatering support
• Execute assigned tasks from Dispatch/Production in a timely manner.
• Conduct pre‑start inspections and report hazards or equipment faults.
• Work within all site policies including safety, environmental, and compliance procedures.
• Assist production teams with dig face prep, floor cleaning and ROM management.
• Ensure safe interaction with heavy haulage and light vehicle fleets.

About You

You are an experienced operator with at least eighteen months’ open-pit mining or quarry production experience. You are safety-focused, adaptable, and work well in a team environment.

To be successful, you will have:

• A valid Australian motor vehicle licence (manual)
• Demonstrated operating experience in open-pit mining/quarry production (either dozer, excavator, grader, water cart)
• Ability to work a panelled roster
• Experience using CAT Minestar GPS system (Desirable)
• Ability to relocate to West Wylong
• Effective communication and teamwork skills
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to safety, productivity, and continuous improvement

This roster is 7:7 roster (7days, 7 off, 7 nights) and a 12 hour day. Thursday to Wednesday swing.
