Operations Manager - Site Constructed Silos

Ahrens

Kingsford, SA, 5118, Australia

Job Description

About the Role

This role is responsible for building and developing Ahrens’ site-erected silo construction capability across Australia.

Rather than managing an established function, this is a hands-on role focused on establishing, scaling, and improving how we deliver site construction projects, including flat bottom and hopper bottom silos.

The successful candidate will play a key role in:

  • Developing in-house capability
  • Improving site delivery efficiency and quality
  • Building contractor networks and delivery models

This is an opportunity to shape how Ahrens delivers site constructed silos into the future.

Skills and Experience

  • Proven experience in construction project management or site delivery
  • Strong background in steel construction or similar environments
  • Demonstrated ability to build and scale capability, not just manage existing operations
  • Strong understanding of site safety, permits, compliance, and construction methodologies
  • Experience managing subcontractors and coordinating site crews
  • Hands-on, practical, and solutions-focused approach
  • Comfortable operating in a growing and evolving environment

Highly regarded:

  • Experience in grain storage, silos, or agricultural infrastructure
  • Experience across multi-disciplinary or integrated projects
  • Exposure to building teams, systems, or functions from the ground up

Benefits

  • Opportunity to build and shape a capability from the ground up
  • Career progression within a large, diversified Australian business
  • Access to corporate discounts, wellbeing programs, and parental leave
  • Supportive, values-driven team environment
