Work Location: Perth Office - Fortescue's Perth office is located on the traditional lands of the Whadjuk people. Ad hoc site travel as required.

Roster:  Monday to Friday

12-month fixed term or secondment

Fortescue is leading the global transition to green energy and decarbonised mining. As part of this journey, we are seeking an Operational Readiness Coordinator to join our Decarbonisation Portfolio Management Office.

This role is critical to ensuring that all decarbonisation assets and infrastructure are operationally ready at handover, with systems, processes, and activities in place to enable safe and efficient operations from day one.

You are a highly organised and proactive coordinator who thrives in a fast-paced project environment. You bring strong attention to detail, a systems mindset, and the ability to bring structure and visibility to complex readiness activities.  Working across multiple stakeholders you are motivated by ensuring that everything is in place for a successful transition to operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Coordinate and track operational readiness activities across the Decarbonisation project portfolio
  • Manage and administer the Decarb Readiness App, ensuring effective implementation and adoption
  • Monitor progress of readiness tasks and escalate risks or delays where required
  • Develop and implement improvements, updates, and fixes to readiness systems and tools
  • Provide training and support to stakeholders using readiness systems and processes
  • Produce regular reporting and dashboards on readiness status for key stakeholders
  • Collaborate with project, commissioning, operations, and readiness teams to ensure alignment
  • Support the development of systems, processes, and documentation required for operational readiness
  • Facilitate a smooth transition of assets from project delivery into operations.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Experience in operational readiness, project coordination, or planning within mining or heavy industry
  • Strong understanding of operational readiness frameworks and deliverables
  • Exposure to project management, scheduling, and reporting processes
  • High proficiency in Excel and reporting tools
  • Experience with completions and commissioning processes
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver to tight timelines
  • Planner or scheduling background desirable but not essential
  • Experience supporting or administering digital tools or systems.
