The Role

A vacancy currently exists for a Human Resources Officer within the HR team that supports the Queensland Metallurgical Operations, based residentially in Mount Isa. Reporting into the Superintendent – Human Resources this position will require you to provide HR support to the HR Advisors in a high volume and fast paced environment. This is a residential role on a Monday to Friday roster, with the option of a lifestyle roster of 5/2/4/3.

Your key responsibilities include:

  • Data entry including elements of payroll, performance reviews, filing management and other HR related functions
  • Onboarding and offboarding of employees including organisation of travel
  • Document control and preparation
  • End of month reporting and processing
  • Auditing of HR systems
  • Supporting the HR advisors with any administration related tasks when required
  • Answering of phone calls – internal and external stakeholders

The successful applicants will have:

  • Successfactors, UKG and Workday experience is highly regarded
  • Ability to multi-task and deal effectively/efficiently and direct HR queries to relevant parties
  • Ability to work in a high-volume work environment
  • Willingness to seek and accept challenges and responsibilities
  • Excellent computer literacy with all Microsoft packages
  • Previous mining experience would be an advantage but not essential
  • Hold a current valid drivers’ license.
