About Cadia
Our Cadia Valley Operation in New South Wales is situated about 25 kilometers from Orange and 250 kilometers west of Sydney. Cadia produces gold doré bars from a gravity circuit and gold-rich copper concentrates from a flotation circuit. The operation includes the Cadia East Mine which is globally renowned for its use of block caving, a large-scale underground mining method.

About the Role
Reporting to the Lead Medical & Emergency Response, the Emergency Response Officer provides 24-hour emergency response coverage across site, supporting medical, fire, rescue and other emergency incidents.
This role plays a critical part in ensuring the safety and wellbeing of employees and contractors by delivering timely and effective response to emergency situations while supporting the ongoing readiness and capability of the Emergency Response Team.
Key Responsibilities include:
- Provide timely and effective response to emergency incidents including medical, fire, rescue, motor vehicle accidents, confined space and underground events.
- Coordinate on-scene emergency response and deploy Emergency Response Teams safely and effectively.
- Provide leadership, guidance and training to Emergency Response Team volunteers.
- Assist in injury management and medical response, ensuring accurate documentation and reporting.
- Maintain readiness of emergency response facilities, vehicles and equipment.
- Provide guidance and sign-off on Working at Heights, Confined Space and Hot Work permits where required.
- Support the Fitness for Work program, ensuring compliance with site standards and procedures.
- Participate in ongoing training, emergency response drills and mine rescue competitions.
- Ensure required inspections, certifications and operational checks are maintained.
The ideal candidate will be a motivated and safety-focused professional who thrives in high-pressure environments and is passionate about protecting people and responding to critical incidents.
You will also bring the following:
- Diploma or Degree in Paramedicine preferred
- Open Manual Essential
- Certificate II in Public Safety (Firefighting Operations) desirable
- Certificate III in Mine Emergency Response and Rescue desirable
- Underground Rescue Operator (including CCBA) desirable
Please note this is a 7 days on 7 days off rotating day and night work pattern. To be considered, applicants must have current and unrestricted working rights in Australia.
