PERSOL is seeking an experienced Occupational Hygiene Advisor to join a high-performing Health & Safety team supporting a major mining operation in Western Australia.
This is an excellent opportunity for an Occupational Hygiene professional who enjoys working in the field, engaging with operational teams, and contributing to a strong health and safety culture.
The Role
Reporting to the Principal Hygienist, you will be responsible for delivering occupational hygiene monitoring, health risk assessments and fit testing across an active mining operation. The role is approximately 60% field-based and 40% office-based, working closely with site leadership and operational personnel.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct air, noise and occupational hygiene monitoring
- Complete respiratory and hearing protection fit testing
- Perform workplace inspections and verify critical controls
- Support health risk assessments and incident investigations
- Assist with Mine Air Quality Officer and Noise Officer activities
- Prepare reports and maintain hygiene records
- Provide practical guidance to operational teams on exposure controls
- Participate in toolbox meetings and safety initiatives
About You
To be successful, you will have:
- Mine Air Quality Technician (MAQT) qualification
- Previous experience in occupational hygiene within mining or heavy industry
- Strong understanding of occupational hygiene principles and exposure monitoring
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills
- Current C Class Driver's Licence
- Ability to work effectively in both field and office environments
Desirable:
- Noise Officer qualification
- Occupational Hygiene, Health Science, Engineering or related tertiary qualification
- AIOH Membership or Certified Occupational Hygienist (COH)
- Knowledge of WA mining legislation and exposure management systems
