Your new role
We are currently seeking Underground Nippers to join a high-performing Development Team on an 8/6/7/7 roster. This is a residential/FIFO role with flights from Cairns, camp accommodation, and all meals provided, or DIDO options from Mount Isa and Cloncurry.
An Underground Nipper plays a vital support role in the development crew, ensuring efficient and safe mining operations. Responsibilities typically include:
- Assisting jumbo operators and development miners
- Handling and transporting materials, tools, and equipment underground
- Setting up and maintaining work areas
- Installing services such as ventilation, water, and air lines
- Performing manual labour tasks in confined underground environments
- Supporting crew productivity and adhering to strict safety standards
This is a hands-on role suited to individuals who enjoy teamwork, physical work, and learning new skills in a fast-paced mining environment.
This is an entry-level mining position, and we welcome applications from green candidates who are eager to learn and demonstrate a strong work ethic in physically demanding environments.
What you'll need to succeed
- A current open manual driver’s licence (mandatory)
- Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and police check
- Strong work ethic and reliability
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour in an underground setting
- A positive attitude and willingness to learn
- Ability to work effectively within a team and follow safety procedures
