About the Company
Join a large-scale open cut mining operation in North Queensland, operating within a high-production environment focused on efficiency, safety, and continuous output. This well-established site offers the opportunity to work on a major tailings removal project within an active production mine, providing long-term stability and exposure to large-scale mining operations.
About the Role
We are currently seeking multiple skilled operators and leaders to contribute within a busy production mining environment, working across large mobile mining equipment and supporting daily mine output.
Positions include:
- Excavator Operators: Operating large mining excavators (>260T), such as EX2600 and EX3600, in active production areas
- Haul Truck Operators: Operating CAT 789 or Hitachi EH3500, AC3 within a production haul cycle
- Multi-Skilled Operators (with 2 or more of the tickets below): D6 LGP (tailings work); D10T Dozers; CAT 18M Graders; Excavators (EX1200 long-arm, EX2600, EX3600); Haul Truck operation as needed
- Leading Hand: Supervising crews on a tailings removal project; Coordinating work within an active mining production schedule
Roster & Site Details:
- 8 days on / 6 days off roster
- Day shift initially, transitioning to day and night shift
- Drive-in/drive-out (approximately 1 hour from Townsville)
- Minimum 12 months of ongoing work
- Immediate start available
What you'll need to succeed
- Demonstrated experience working in a production mining environment on a large open cut mine site
- Proven ability to operate relevant heavy mining equipment safely and efficiently
- Current and valid RII tickets
- Residence in Townsville or surrounding areas
- Reliable transport for site commute
- Open manual driver’s licence
- Ability to undertake a Pre-employment medical, drug & alcohol screening & police check
