About the opportunity
We are seeking a Mining Support Manager for our Resource Industries team. This is a senior, customer facing leadership role with oversight of customers across the Hunter Valley and Mudgee regions. The role focuses on fleet performance, customer relationships, and long-term partnerships in complex mining settings.
This is a pivotal leadership role responsible for managing strategic customer site relationships, driving aftermarket sales growth, maximising the physical availability (PA) and total cost of ownership (TCO) of Caterpillar mining fleets.
You will oversee a team of six skilled professionals, encompassing both technical and account management roles, and collaborate with senior customer stakeholders to deliver customised fleet solutions that foster sustained value for both the client and WesTrac.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead and influence aftermarket, technology and service sales opportunities across customer sites.
- Develop and execute site-based aftermarket sales strategies aligned to customer needs.
- Own KPI reporting, issue resolution and account dispute management .
- Proactively manage fleet performance to optimise Physical Availability (PA) Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
- Review and provide feedback on customer proposals and commercial submissions.
- Negotiate aftermarket supply and service contracts at a site level.
- Build, coach and develop a high-performing team with a strong safety focus.
- Develop site sales budgets and manage 2–5 year parts, service and solutions forecasts.
- Establish trusted relationships with senior site and customer leadership teams.
Skills & Experience
- Tertiary qualifications in Business, Commerce, Engineering or a related discipline (highly regarded.
- Senior operations or account management experience at a Caterpillar dealership or other OEM (highly regarded).
- roven experience leading and motivating sales or account management teams.
- Strong understanding of heavy mining equipment and TCO modelling.
- Commercial and contractual experience within the mining or resources sector.
- Excellent stakeholder management, communication and negotiation skills.
