Apply and let’s start the conversation. We are currently seeking a Mining Engineer: Underground Production to join our Underground team at Tropicana Gold Mine. Reporting to the Senior Mining Engineer, the purpose of this role is to coordinate production drilling and stoping activities related to drilling and blasting in order to achieve schedule targets. The Drill and Blast Engineers report to and liaise with the Alternate Underground Manager to facilitate the achievement of production targets relating to stope ore movement and drilling activities. This role is offered on an 8 days on/6 days off FIFO roster, with direct flights provided to site from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie.

About the Role

  • Be an active safety leader in line with company values, policies, and procedures
  • Collaborate with contracting partners to ensure compliance with the mining plan
  • Complete stope drill designs, charge plans, and reconciliations in line with business requirements
  • Ensure production excellence by participating in QAQC activities for blasting
  • Complete slot raising designs, remote plans, and void management plans in line with site procedures
  • Demonstrate active field leadership through regular underground inspections
  • Provide mentorship to graduates
  • Take the lead on business objectives and projects
  • Contribute to business improvement initiatives
  • Ensure the health and safety of underground workers through detailed and accurate technical plans in line with the WHS Act

About You / Requirements

  • A degree in Mining Engineering
  • Previous experience in underground production activities
  • Effective time management and decision-making skills
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Existing permanent working rights in Australia
  • A Western Australian “C” Class Driver’s Licence (manual required)
  • The ability to obtain a new National Police Clearance
  • The ability to obtain a Dangerous Goods Licence
