Mining Engineer
Scotford Fennessy
Job Description
About the Role
Joining this well-backed, hard-rock mining operation, you’ll have the opportunity to make a tangible difference as a key part of a tightknit tech services function.
What you can expect;
- Ownership of operational planning; short-term out to the medium-term, with plenty of interaction with the long-term planning function
- Drive drill and blast; plans, designs, tie-ins and QC/QA
- Providing site-based inputs to the long-term, LOM, long-range budgets, you’ll continue to upskill in these areas, opening doors for future
- Management of the mining contractor
- Ownership of and contributions towards continuous improvement studies and initiatives
Team;
- The existing tech services team and the manager you’ll work with are in a career ‘sweet spot’ – experienced enough that they will be good technical mentors, but still very much on the ‘upswing’ in their own careers, so still open to adapting and embracing new approaches themselves.
Other particulars;
- While a smaller mid-tier on paper, the company has key backers – ensuring financial stability, strong systems and resourcing on the ground, and some of the salary packaging perks that you’d normally expect at the bigger end of town
- 8/6 FIFO roster ex-Perth – short flights
- Deswik, Alastri APS and Shotplus in use
- Salary packaging; approx. $165 – 185k plus super and incentives
About you;
- This will best suit if you have proven site-based planning and D&B experience in an Australian open pit operation, ideally in a hard-rock setting
- A QM ticket, or the ability to get one, would be highly regarded
- Experience with Deswik, Alastri and/or Shotplus highly regarded
