Mining Engineer

About the Role

As a Mining Engineer at Northparkes, you’ll play a key role in delivering the E22 Underground Project - a major growth initiative that will help shape the next phase of our operation.

Reporting to the Principal Mining Engineer, you’ll be part of the project team responsible for design and execution of a large-scale block cave development inclusive of twin declines and raises. You’ll work closely with the Technical Services, Underground Operations and Projects departments to support the safe and timely delivery of E22 project alongside the E48 SLC and E26 L1N Block Cave mine in an integrated mine planning environment.

This role offers a unique mix of technical and project exposure. You’ll contribute across mine design, short to medium-term planning, and critical path tracking, while also supporting contractor coordination and continuous improvement initiatives.

As part of the E22 Project, you’ll be working on one of Australia’s most exciting underground developments - gaining exposure to block caving, large scale project delivery and the future of the Northparkes operation.

About You

You’re a Mining Engineer who enjoys being close to the operation and wants to contribute to a major underground project.

You bring a balance of technical capability and a practical mindset. You’re comfortable working across planning and execution, enjoy problem solving, and can build strong relationships with teams on site.

You’ll bring:

• A degree in Mining Engineering (or related discipline)
• Experience in underground mining environments (2-3 years+)
• Exposure to mine design and planning (short to medium term)
• Strong skills in Deswik (CAD, IS, Sched desirable)
• Strong practical base and knowledge
• An ability to analyse data, manage priorities and deliver project outcomes

Experience in decline development projects, contractor coordination or caving methods will be highly regarded.

Most importantly, you’re proactive, adaptable and motivated to learn. You enjoy working in a collaborative team and want to be part of delivering a project that will define the future of Northparkes.
