Job Tasks and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Tech Services Manager, you will be a part of a dynamic and motivated team.

The role will require you to:The Mine Surveyor is responsible for mapping, measuring, and monitoring surface in an opencut mining operation and to ensure safety, accuracy, and compliance with regulations.

The surveyor will define excavation limits, drill and blast limits and calculate volumes.

Skills and Experience

Skills

  • Well organised with the ability to manage competing priorities
  • Able to work both independently and as part of a team

Knowledge

  • Excellent working understanding of individual responsibilities in relation to the Coal Mining Safety & Health Act
  • Sound understanding of Trimble GNSS
  • Thorough understanding of the QLD Coal Mining Legislation

Experience

  • Well experienced in the provision of surveying applications within an Open Cut coal mining environment.

  • Set out designs, record and maintain accurate "as built" for infrastructure

  • Experience with Vulcan, Agisoft, Globalmapper, PointStudio and Trimble Business Centre software

  • The ability to check current dig and dump compliance
