Through Rio Tinto’s partnership with Chandler Macleod, we are seeking multiple Entry Level Mine Operators to join the Northern Andoom Operations in Weipa.
- No previous mining experience required
- Full on-the-job training provided
- 4/5/5/4 rotating day/night roster
- Work locally in Weipa – no FIFO required
- Opportunity to gain valuable experience within Rio Tinto operations
This is a residential opportunity for Weipa residents with existing local accommodation. The 4/5/5/4 rotating day/night roster gives you the opportunity to build a career in mining while continuing to live and work locally in Weipa. Successful applicants may also form part of a job-ready pool for future Mine Operator opportunities across Andoom and Amrun. About You
- Current Weipa resident with existing local accommodation
- Current C Class driver’s licence (automatic/manual)
- A strong commitment to the safety of yourself and your team
- A high degree of ownership and responsibility for equipment under your control
- Ability to successfully complete a fit-for-work/pre-employment medical
