Job Description
Gold Fields is a globally diversified gold producer with nine operating mines in Australia, South Africa, Ghana, Peru, Canada and Chile.
Gold Fields' mining assets in the Australia region include St Ives, Agnew, Granny Smith and Gruyere gold mines.
Reporting to the Metallurgical Superintendent, you will join a friendly, high energy, high-performing team where collaboration is key. Working alongside operations and maintenance teams, you will use your metallurgical expertise and provide practical guidance to drive optimal plant performance, while championing safety and environmental excellence.

What You’ll Do
- Drive production performance by optimising plant operations to ensure targets for throughput, gold recovery, and overall efficiency are achieved.
- Ensure safe, compliant, and effective use of plant assets through careful planning, monitoring, and the application of innovative processes and technology.
- Collaboratively contribute to continuous improvement by analysing data and identifying opportunities to enhance the effectiveness, efficiency, and overall performance of operations.
- Demonstrate through behaviours and actions, Gold Fields core values and create a culture where every team member feels seen, supported, and valued.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree qualifications in Metallurgy or relevant discipline.
- Knowledge of process technologies and equipment.
- Proven experience in a similar role within a gold processing plant.
- Exposure to implementation and maintenance of ICMI cyanide code.
