MEM Mechanical Technician

About the Role

Be part of a high-performing Mobile Equipment Maintenance (MEM) team that delivers 24/7 support to underground operations at Northparkes. Your role is critical in ensuring our fleet is always in top condition—safe, reliable, and ready to meet production demands. The work you do directly impacts safety, cost control, and tonnes mined, making you an essential contributor to our operational success.

In this hands-on position, you’ll carry out planned maintenance, perform heavy vehicle inspections, and respond to breakdowns with precision and professionalism. You’ll work closely with team leaders and planners to keep maintenance schedules up to date and ensure all work is documented accurately using our site systems. With a strong focus on quality workmanship and safety, you’ll help set the benchmark for mobile fleet performance while maintaining high standards of housekeeping and compliance with site procedures.

About You

• You’re based in Parkes or ready to relocate and be part of a thriving mining community.
• You hold a Certificate III Trade Qualification in heavy mobile equipment maintenance, with at least 2 years of post-trade experience in mining or heavy industry.
• You have solid experience in diagnosing and troubleshooting underground equipment, and you’re confident using OEM documentation and diagnostic tools.
• You’re organised, a clear communicator, and committed to delivering safe, high-quality work.
• You hold a current “C” Class Australian Driver’s Licence and are ready to contribute to a team that values safety, performance, and continuous improvement

• This is a residential role based in the Parkes region, working a consistent 7:7 roster with 12-hour shifts
