Mechanical/Material Testing Machinist

The Role

Reporting to the Business Manager, SRG are seeking a capable Mechanical / Materials Testing Machinist to join the team located in regional Smithfield, NSW on a Casualbasis.

If successful, you will be responsible for machining and preparing test specimens for mechanical and metallurgical testing in accordance with industry standards and client specifications.

Key Responsibilities

• Machine and prepare test specimens from metals and allows for mechanical and materials testing
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, standards and machining specifications
• Maintain machining equipment and ensure tools are calibrated and in good working condition

The successful applicant will ideally have

• Experience oprating manual machining equipment
• Experience machining test specimens for mechanical or materials testing
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work to precise dimensions
• Knowledge of machining different materials including steel, stainless steel, and aluminium
• Australian working rights
• Ability to pass a pre-employment medical including a drug & alcohol screen
