We are currently seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to oversee the execution of underground Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) projects within a major underground hard rock mining operation.

This role is suited to an experienced supervisor with a strong background in Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) projects who can safely manage contractors, coordinate site activities and ensure works are delivered to the highest safety and quality standards.

The Opportunity

Reporting to the Construction Manager, you will provide on-site supervision across a portfolio of underground infrastructure projects. You will be responsible for overseeing contractors, ensuring compliance with site safety requirements and coordinating the successful delivery of structural, mechanical and piping works.

This is a hands-on leadership role requiring a strong field presence and the ability to work collaboratively with Project Engineers, Operations and contractor teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Supervise the safe execution of underground Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) project works
  • Coordinate contractors across multiple Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) project scopes
  • Review and approve Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs), work authorities and associated permit documentation
  • Ensure all works are completed in accordance with engineering drawings, project specifications and site standards
  • Monitor contractor productivity, quality and compliance
  • Conduct daily pre-start meetings, toolbox talks and field leadership activities
  • Identify construction risks and implement appropriate control measures
  • Liaise with Project Engineers, Construction Managers, Operations and Maintenance teams to coordinate work activities
  • Support project scheduling, progress reporting and issue resolution
  • Ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule and to the required quality standards

About You

To be successful in this role, you will ideally possess:

  • Demonstrated experience as a Mechanical Supervisor within an underground hard rock mining environment
  • Strong experience supervising Structural, Mechanical and Piping (SMP) project works
  • Experience delivering underground infrastructure or Non-Process Infrastructure (NPI) projects
  • Proven ability to manage contractors within an operational mining environment
  • Sound understanding of permit-to-work systems, JHAs, work authorities and isolation procedures
  • Strong leadership, communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Mechanical Trade Qualification (essential)
  • Supervisor qualifications and relevant mining certifications highly regarded
