The OpportunityCSI are seeking an experienced Mechanical Supervisor to provide support and supervision to a team of high-performing maintenance crew at our Kwinana workshop. You will be responsible for ensuring safe, efficient and high-quality maintenance activities. This crucial supervisory role ensures the reliability and performance of our fixed plant and mobile equipment.
We are seeking a people-focused leader who can will provide structure, direction, and support. While a solid mechanical background is important, this role is best suited to a supervisor who is passionate about people leadership and can effectively lead a highly skilled team to achieve strong workshop outcomes.
This role is a full-time permanent role, on a Monday to Friday work roster.
Your primary responsibilities will include:
- Supervise and coordinate day-to-day mechanical activities within the Kwinana Workshop, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.
- Lead workshop-based maintenance, repair, rebuild, and assembly of fixed plant and processing equipment, including crushers, screens, conveyors, pumps, and associated components.
- Plan labour, materials, tooling, and job priorities to meet workshop schedules and operational deadlines.
- Monitor job progress, quality, and productivity, ensuring work is completed in line with specifications, drawings, and company standards.
- Provide hands-on leadership, technical guidance, and support to tradespeople, apprentices, and contractors.
- Oversee inspections, fault finding, and component assessment to identify repair requirements and support reliable outcomes.
- Ensure all maintenance records, work orders, inspection reports, and workshop documentation are completed accurately and on time.
- Maintain high standards of safety, housekeeping, and compliance across the workshop, including adherence to permits, isolations, and lifting requirements.
- Coordinate with planning, procurement, and operational teams to ensure parts, resources, and workshop deliverables are aligned with business needs.
- Drive a culture of accountability, continuous improvement, and team development through strong leadership, coaching, and mentoring.
What is required?
- C Class Driver’s Licence.
- Schedule 26 (mandatory).
- Current First Aid certification.
- Experience with computerised maintenance management systems (CMMS).
- Experience in rebuilds of crushers, exciters, screens, pulleys and fixed plant components.
- Required to work 6-4High Risk Work licences (e.g., crane, forklift, EWP, rigging).
- Certificate IV or Diploma in Frontline Management or equivalent.
- Relevant Trade Qualification and Supervisory Courses.
- Sound mechanical knowledge or trade background.
- Previous experience working in a Crushing Plant or similar Fixed Plant environment in a supervisory capacity.
- Australian work rights.
