Your new role

As a Mechanical Project Manager, you will be responsible for delivering a portfolio of mechanical capital projects from concept through to commissioning and handover. Working closely with engineering consultants, contractors, operations teams, and key stakeholders, you will ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in line with business objectives.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Managing mechanical projects through all phases of the project life cycle
  • Coordinating consultants during scoping, study, and detailed design stages
  • Managing project schedules, budgets, risks, and reporting requirements
  • Overseeing contractor performance and ensuring contractual obligations are met
  • Leading project execution, construction activities, commissioning, and handover
  • Ensuring project documentation is maintained and complies with governance requirements
  • Collaborating with maintenance, operations, engineering, and site leadership teams
  • Monitoring project performance and driving continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensuring all works are completed in accordance with safety, quality, and environmental standards

What you'll need to succeed

  • Demonstrated experience managing mechanical projects within mining, resources, heavy industry, manufacturing, or infrastructure environments
  • Proven experience managing consultants through early study and detailed design phases
  • Experience delivering projects through execution, construction, and commissioning
  • Strong understanding of project governance, project controls, and delivery documentation
  • Sound knowledge of contract administration and contractor management
  • Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
  • Ability to manage multiple project priorities in a fast-paced operational environment
  • Mechanical Engineering qualifications or a Mechanical Trade background will be highly regarded.
  • Commitment to maintaining high safety and operational standards
