Job Description
About the Role
Seeking an experienced mechanical designer with previous experience on skids, pumps, and power involves translating engineering schematics into detailed, manufacturable 3D models and 2D fabrication drawings. Designers in this space integrate structural frames, rotating equipment, and piping systems to meet project.
Core Responsibilities
- 3D Modeling & Layout: Developing intelligent 3D models of skids, ensuring proper spacing, ergonomic access, and optimal maintenance clearances.
- Piping & Equipment Drafting: Creating accurate isometric drawings, P&IDs (Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams), and General Arrangement (GA) drawings.
- Structural Integration: Designing baseframes, lifting lugs, and pipe supports.
- Documentation: Generating Bills of Materials (BOMs) and Material Take-Offs (MTOs) for procurement.
Key Skills Required
- Software: Proficiency in industry-standard CAD software like Inventor, is essential.
- Engineering Standards: Familiarity with Australian Standards (AS) and mining or oil & gas codes.
- Mechanical Aptitude: Understanding pump curves, fluid dynamics, and alignment constraints
