Marketing & Customer Events Advisor

The Opportunity

An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Marketing and Customer Events Advisor / Manager to join Mineral Technologies, part of Downer Energy & Utilities.

This pivotal role is at the heart of the business, supporting the General Manager and leadership team through a combination of executive support, office management, event coordination, and marketing oversight. Acting as the key connection point between internal stakeholders, external marketing partners, and senior leadership, you will ensure business priorities, customer engagement initiatives, and administrative operations run seamlessly.

Reporting to the General Manager, you will coordinate business activities across multiple functions, manage executive calendars and travel arrangements, oversee major industry events and conferences, and facilitate marketing initiatives through the management of an external marketing agency and an internal Marketing Coordinator.

Key responsibilities include:

• Provide high-level executive support to the General Manager, including diary management, travel coordination, meeting preparation, and correspondence management.
• Coordinate and manage office administration activities to support efficient business operations.
• Plan and deliver customer events, conferences, trade shows, leadership meetings, and industry exhibitions, including end-to-end logistics and stakeholder coordination.
• Act as the primary liaison between the business, external marketing agency, and internal Marketing Coordinator to ensure marketing activities align with business objectives.
• Coordinate the development and delivery of marketing and communications campaigns, ensuring brand consistency and timely execution.
• Identify and facilitate opportunities to promote business achievements, customer success stories, project milestones, and industry engagement initiatives.
• Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to support collaboration and strategic business outcomes.
• Support leadership teams with event planning, team engagement activities, and business-wide initiatives.
• Monitor and coordinate marketing projects from briefing through to delivery, ensuring deadlines and stakeholder expectations are met.

You will ideally have:

• Experience in office management, executive support, administration, events, or marketing coordination.
• Proven ability to manage executive calendars, travel arrangements, stakeholder communications, and business priorities.
• Strong event coordination experience, including conferences, customer events, and corporate functions.
• Excellent communication, relationship-building, and stakeholder management skills.
• Experience working with marketing activities, campaigns, and external agencies.
• Highly organised with the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail, a proactive mindset, and a solutions-focused approach.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and business management systems.
• Experience within industrial, engineering, mining, manufacturing, or technical environments is desirable but not essential.
