About the Role
Reporting to the General Manager – Infrastructure & Logistics, you will provide leadership across multiple project teams, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, on schedule, and within budget while driving continuous improvement across the capital program. This role can be based in Brisbane, Rockhampton or Townsville and will require regular travel to site locations.
As Manager of Projects, you will oversee the operational execution of capital projects, working closely with Project Managers, site leaders and key stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes. You will lead resource planning, risk management, scheduling, financial performance, capability development and project governance across a complex portfolio of infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the execution and operational performance of the capital project program.
- Collaborate with Project Managers to forecast and allocate resources effectively.
- Optimise resource utilisation across multiple concurrent projects.
- Drive project scheduling and resolve program conflicts to ensure delivery objectives are achieved.
- Monitor project budgets, identify cost-saving opportunities and improve financial performance.
- Lead risk identification, assessment and mitigation activities across the portfolio.
- Establish and maintain quality standards, project controls and governance frameworks.
- Develop project team capability through coaching, mentoring and succession planning.
- Foster a strong safety culture and ensure SHEC compliance across all project activities.
What we are looking for
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Business or a related discipline.
- Extensive experience leading large-scale CAPEX projects within mining, resources, rail, infrastructure, construction or heavy industry environments.
- Strong understanding of project delivery methodologies, construction processes and operational management.
- Proven experience managing multiple projects, stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Demonstrated leadership capability with experience leading high-performing teams.
- Strong commercial and financial acumen, including budgeting, forecasting and reporting.
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement, communication and negotiation skills.
- Ability to influence outcomes and drive continuous improvement in a dynamic environment
